The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, delivered a harsh speech at the opposition protest in front of the Prime Minister's Office today, where he accused Prime Minister Edi Rama of abusing power and suppressing the opposition.
In his speech, Berisha said that he himself had been placed under house arrest on the orders of Edi Rama and that the country's former president Ilir Meta had been beaten and confronted with violence to intimidate the opposition.
He also mentioned the case of Ervin Salianj, who according to Berisha was imprisoned due to his confrontation with the "Rama-Xhafa mafia clan of the Balkans and Europe."
