Berisha proposes two names, who is expected to lead the DP National Council

The National Council of the Democratic Party of Albania (DP) is expected to elect the new leader and members of the party's Presidency today. At the meeting held at the DP headquarters, Berisha proposed two names that will be voted on by the members of the National Council.

The names proposed by Berisha are Silva Hasa and Julia Emiri. "I thought that the National Council would be led by a woman," Berisha said before making the names public.

The DP National Council has been led by Edi Paloka since 2021, while the latter declared a few days ago that he would not run for re-election, thus paving the way for the selection of a new name.
