The head of PBDNJ, Vangjel Dule, has spoken about the "Beleri" case, defending himself that his constitutional rights are being denied.
Dule said that as a result of this, the relations between the two countries are currently tense, despite the fact that towards Greece, Brussels has openly expressed its position that this is a matter that belongs only to Albanian justice.
"Beler is the elected mayor of a municipality, so he has some constitutional rights, which prevail over any other law. Beler is unconvicted, presumed innocent, and the Constitution says that whoever is elected as the head of the municipality, is ratified by the court of fact , and he swears. This right has been deprived with a third-level law. You cannot prohibit a constitutional right with a third-level law," said Dule.
Regarding the tensions between the two countries, Dule said that they should be regulated by Prime Minister Rama, respecting the laws.
"It is Rama's will. It precedes the judiciary before any decision. The matter is resolved respecting the laws. If Rama wants, it is resolved... I see that there is a will in many cells of the public life of the two countries, and this overcomes the will of the leaderships that are temporary", said Dule in an interview for News 24.
