The Democratic Party will hold the Primary Process on March 1st...
The Democratic Party has a decision ready to hold the primaries. As previously reported, Sali Berisha has excluded from this process political leaders in the regions, who seem to have a secure place on the lists.
The decision is expected to be approved today at the National Council meeting. According to the document, the primaries will be held at the district level on March 1.
Political leaders in the districts that remain outside the primaries and have a secure place on the lists are: Tirana – Belind Këlliçi; Durrës – Oerd Bylykbashi; Shkodër – Luçiano Boçi; Lezhë – Agron Gjekmarkaj; Fier – Gazment Bardhi; Elbasan – Tomor Alizoti; Korçë – Ivi Kaso; Kukës – Flamur Hoxha; Gjirokastër – Tritan Shehu; Vlorë – Bujar Leksaj; Berat – Eno Bozdo; Dibër – Xhelal Mziu.
The primaries process has caused debates in the DP. Several figures have come out against it. Gazment Bardhi himself has said several times that there is no time, while several MPs close to him have also been skeptical, including Jorida Tabaku.
Bardhi himself seems to have secured a place on the list, while it seems that there will be a strong competition among other names. There are a large number of Democrats who are seeking to become MPs and it seems that the primaries will show how much support they have at the grassroots level. /Pamphlet
