The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, has reacted after US President Donald Trump considered the option of housing Palestinians displaced from Gaza in Albania.
Berisha said that Albania does not have any kind of infrastructure to welcome them, adding that it is in a dead end. He stressed that our country is a trafficking country and does not provide guarantees for people's lives.
"Albania doesn't have any kind of infrastructure that I can expect, it's in a rut right now.
"Albania is a country of trafficking, it does not meet any conditions, it does not provide guarantees for human lives. Has the media circulated it, yes! Rama has denied it, but can you trust Rama?" said Berisha.
Recall that United States President Donald Trump has said that he may also consider Albania as a place to bring Palestinians displaced from the Gaza Strip.
In his meeting with the king of Jordan, Trump was asked by reporters whether he was considering other countries to send Palestinians besides Egypt, such as Albania or Indonesia?
"Yes, of course. There are many other countries that want to be involved," Trump replied.
