Debate on primaries, Tabaku: If it doesn't create division, it's good

The Democratic Party primaries, the process through which opposition candidates for the May 11 elections will be selected, have sparked quite a bit of debate within the blue camp.

But for Democratic MP, Jorida Tabaku, this race will be fair and will not divide the party, but on the contrary, it will benefit the DP.

" At the meeting of the National Council, the Presidency, I said the same sentence, if the competition is healthy and does not create division, it is good for the DP. I am part of the primary list and contacting the members, the party structures every day and I need it for myself but also for the constant contact I have with the structures. I do not see it as a moment of division, but as a phase that must be passed to move on to the competition with the opponent ," Tabaku told News 24.

Asked if it is a waste of time to go out and ask for votes from the structures at a time when they are supposed to go out and meet people to vote for them in the Assembly, Tabaku said that this is a process that will best serve the DP's goal.

" The first phase of the DP campaign is the diaspora. Second is the DP program that is being launched. On Sunday, the economic program was presented and this is for the elections. And the third part is the shake-up for the DP, a revival, without prejudice, I have faith in the democrats, they know how to stand up in difficult moments. This process will pass and will serve to make us more ready to face the opponent ," said Tabaku.
