To reinforce his stance on the merger of SPAK, Berisha took as an example the "idol" of the moment, American President Donald Trump.
The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, declared again today that he is not backing down from the idea of merging and remodeling the justice system after consulting with the Venice Commission.
Berisha emphasized that if he were to accept a political prosecution, as he calls SPAK, then he would betray the opposition.
" There is absolutely nothing except what I said here in December. If I were to accept this Prosecutor as he is, I would be a traitor, the biggest in the history of oppositionism in Albania. I have here three international resolutions.
"Which brand SPAK as a political prosecutor. If I, as an opposition member, were to accept a political prosecutor, I would be accepting a great disaster for my country," Berisha said on the "Debat" show on "A2CNN."
To reinforce his stance on the dissolution of SPAK, Berisha took as an example the "idol" of the moment, American President Donald Trump. He emphasized that he would do with SPAK the same thing that Trump did with the New York prosecutor's office.
" Three days ago Donald Trump dissolved the New York prosecutor's office. Two days ago Donald Trump fired all the prosecutors appointed by Joe Biden.
"Because they have only been political prosecutors, nothing else. Because if you take his platform, his anti-crime platform is more powerful than Joe Biden's was ," he said.
