Socialist MP Ermonela Felaj has spoken about the upcoming parliamentary elections.
Ermonela Felaj is on the open list of socialists for the upcoming parliamentary elections, as she says that she does not feel threatened. According to her, the mandate is not eternal, even though it is a privilege that few people are given in life.
"Since 2009 I have been part of active politics, it has been an open confrontation. I can share this experience with you also in 2021 where I ran in Tirana where I had not worked before and had no records of MP's work and I succeeded. More important than caring about what name we will leave to the end, is what name we enjoy at a given moment. I see no reason to fear any kind of confrontation on the territory. Creating lists is not so simple and formal. I believe that anyone with a work record of respect and integrity has no reason to feel intimidated. Nobody is eternal. This is a privilege that few people are given in life. If I fill it with good works very well, that would be the maximum, rather than being marked on a bordero as the chosen one of a party", said the SP deputy.
According to Felaj, the new list and formula is done with the aim of maximizing the victory of the socialists, who are seeking a fourth governing mandate, but also for the harmonization of forces according to needs. Felaj emphasizes that young people should also be given the opportunity to re-energize the party.
"It is not a surprise move, in the consensus for the electoral reform we were accused of wanting to secure a list of deputies by ensuring political inheritance. This is a challenge for the opponent as well and there is no reason to retreat from a formula that the system uses. One of the main reasons is that SP is seeking a fourth term, and this is not easy. It requires renewal of forces, we have not started the engines now, and this re-energization also includes the leadership of the SP. I became active in 2009 and at that time SP changed 40% of its members and I do not see this part with prejudice because it would be ironic and hypocritical on my part, because I am only the product of a renewal. Young people should also be given the opportunity. Formula lists allow for harmonization according to needs. You have to do the system and the drafting of the lists in such a way as to maximize the victory. In 2021, the political leaders were listed at the bottom of the list and the idea was to energize the first part of the list to get more votes," said the SP deputy for "A2 CNN".
