The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, participated in the memorial ceremony for the four martyrs killed on April 2, 1991 in Shkodra.
In his speech, Berisha compared the current political situation to the past dictatorship, describing today's government as a "regime based on crime and terror." He said that the gang has a ringleader named Edi Rama.
"This gang has a ringleader named Edi Rama. The sacrifice of the martyrs of Shkodra is more inspiring than ever. On May 11, we must return the light of freedom to Shkodra and throughout Albania," Berisha declared.
He called on citizens to make the May 11 elections a moment for restoring free voting.
"Today we remember their sublime sacrifice in a dictatorship that is no longer based on the ideology of the party committee, but on the ideology of Dobraç, of crime and terror! This is a dictatorship as ugly as the first. It is based on the ideology of a gang that seeks to defeat a freedom-loving city. This gang has a bandit at its head called Edi Rama. Therefore, today the sacrifice, the heroism of the martyrs of Shkodra is more inspiring than ever, it is a call for every citizen of this blessed city, for every Albanian to return May 11 to the day of free voting, to return on May 11 the light of freedom to Shkodra and all of Albania. On May 11 we will sign the project of the Albanian dream, which punishes crime, corruption with the force of law and protects the rights of citizens. The project of Albania that turns into an epicenter of technological development, an energy superpower, Albania hope and faith," said Berisha.
