Socialist MP Pandeli Majko commented on Veliaj's arrest, saying that it is a serious blow to the Socialist Party. He stressed that the vacuum is felt and that there are costs for the campaign that if you don't know how to do the math, you are wrong. Regarding SPAK, Majko said that he would not contest it even if it knocked on his door.
"I do not treat Veliaj as a mechanism that was removed and is not. It is a heavy blow because it is the authority of the largest municipality. The vacuum is felt, there are costs that are summed up in the campaign and if you do not know how to do the math, you are wrong. The Tirana region does not have a delicate campaign. It is the first campaign that a party has the mayor in prison.
"From a moral point of view, it's a difficult situation. It never occurs to me to say 'this is it' in this moral situation, to say 'I am this'. I never dispute SPAK, even if it knocks on my door, I won't say anything ," he said on the 'Real Story' show on 'Abcnews'.
