Tonight's guest on the 'Pamphlet' podcast on YouTube is Luçiano Boçi, the political leader of the DP in Shkodër and winner of the May 11 elections. He was asked on "Të Pashoj" about the DP's loss. Boçi also stuck to the line that there was an 'electoral massacre'.
– Are you upset about this great loss?
I have said before that it is not related to the result. It is related to what happened. It is related to the vote, because the vote is not a moment, but it is history and it is the future. It is the essence of the system and the existence of political parties. When the vote is annihilated, the upset is not related to the result, but to this element. It is not about having done a proper process and being upset that we did not do this or that.
– You charge 100 percent to the deformation?
These numbers are irrelevant.
– And from yourself, do you turn your finger?
There is room for analysis and improvement, even when you win. There is always room for improvement. But we are in a moment of continuity of that struggle that I said before – that the essence of the system and epochal changes is the vote. In 1946, Hoxha sanctioned power with a vote. Even in 1990, epochal change came through the vote. Everything is related to the vote. Whether we like it or not, even by a percentage, we are in the annihilation of the vote. Everything else will be a party analysis, which is serious both before itself and before the public. There will be analysis. But this is not the moment.
– There are many Albanians who say...
Opinionists are not all Albanians. When we say "Albanians", we are talking about the ordinary citizen.
– They are Albanians too.
A band has been created in Albanian society that enjoys the attributes of distributing opinions, but which is at the service of the majority.
– Beyond this, there are those who say: "If Berisha had not returned, the DP would have defeated him or at least would have been head to head with the SP." Do you believe this?
I'm not talking about percentages. It's not true, because there is a reason. If we had a fair process, we could talk about the reasons that drive the result. But as long as there was no electoral process, there are neither winners nor losers. Is Rama the winner today? If there is no electoral process, they are similar to elections that were won by 99 percent, where people sang for the party and danced. Today, the percentages have changed, but not the ways of getting votes. There is only one player on the field who controls everything – the CEC, the process, the institutions, the underworld, the life of every Albanian. He controls the media, the territory, everything is in the service of the vote. And here we are – this is the one who decided.
-Don't you think you've become a little obsessed with the same refrain by not knowing the elections?
If the truth is repeated, it means that the truth must be repeated. If I want to articulate the truth, it will always be articulated. Only in this way can we heal evil.
-But the SP has received its 4th mandate?
He may even be declared king, but there will still be people who will speak the truth. In the SP, the vote was directed towards anonymous people, look carefully, how is it explained that anonymous people today result in the most votes in the ranks of the SP and have received parliamentary mandates.
-But for telling these truths, are you blaming the DP?
No, we are not taking the DP to task, but we are carrying those values, we are telling the truth. The DP is a party that has always reflected on the truths it has defended and told. If I am wrong to tell the truth, then I am not telling this truth, what will the truth do, will it be buried? We are bringing out the facts, these facts show the truth.
-Why don't you change the route?
How do we change the path to become like Rama? If we have a system that does not accept the triumph of values and we are not achieving it, then why did the so-called new parties not get votes to govern? In Albania, extra-legal methods are used and then we say the system is to blame. Let's say we will make a new electoral reform, when it steals every electoral reform.
