Democratic Party MP Jorida Tabaku has analyzed the drop in consumption in the peak months according to INSTAT data.
Tabaku writes that the reason for the decline in consumption lies in the increase in prices as a result of the policies of the socialist government, socialist taxes and the socialist vision of the economy for the minority.
"The publication of data by INSTAT regarding population consumption and the 0.53% drop in population consumption shows exactly what we have been saying for years: socialist inflation and socialist taxes have impoverished Albanian families. The decrease in consumption by 0.53% precisely in the peak months, shows that today Albanian families consume very little, that today the increased prices, the concentration of the economy in a few hands, the increase in taxes are producing an increase in prices and an impoverishment of citizens. The 7% increase in the prices of basket products: flour, oil, bread and food shows exactly the fact that Albanian families are in an impasse.
The imposition of VAT on agricultural products has increased chain prices and has made Albanian families consume less today, but on the other hand, the structure that the Albanian economy has today and the distribution of wealth in a few hands is resulting in a decrease in consumption and impoverishment of Albanian society as well as in fewer purchases and of course the decisions of 10 years that reflect exactly in the pockets of Albanian citizens. This should serve for the government as a way to change, it should serve as a way to deal neither with cosmetics, nor with makeup, nor with a change of governments, nor with a change of ministers, but to deal with what is today the essence: the survival of Albanian families. The decline in consumption reflects exactly this, also massive depopulation and socialist inflation, socialist taxes, but above all the reality that Albanian families live today", says Tabaku.
