
Yuri Kim, the former US ambassador to Tirana, who was part of the State Department in the position of Deputy Secretary of State, has left this position, accepting a deal similar to what was offered to a significant number of officials, in the context of a reform of the US Government, after Donald Trump returned to the White House.

Referring to the official website of the US Department of State, Andrew Stowe has been appointed as the acting Principal Deputy Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs.
Before taking on this role, he had been Executive Director for the Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs and International Organization Affairs since July 2023.

A 23-year veteran of the Foreign Service, his previous assignments include Management Officer Sao Paulo, Brazil, Supervising Post Management Officer for NEA/EX, Management Advisor in Dhaka, SO Management, G. Kabul, Afghanistan, G. Support Unit in Amman, Jordan, Management Officer in Bangkok, Thailand, Consular Officer in Kampala, Uganda, and Assistant Cultural Affairs Officer in Jakarta, Indonesia.
A graduate of the University of Utah and American University, he is married with three children.
