The current legislature has shown significant weaknesses in terms of the quality of parliamentary life, the level of engagement, and the constitutional role of the Assembly.
Several active MPs from both camps were left off the lists. Among them, Lavdrim Krashi of the Socialist Party, who arrived 4 years ago as a diaspora member, stands out.
The leader of the SP placed 21 women on the safe list, while a total of 69 women are running. The majority that is heading towards May 11 as a single party, without a coalition, recruited 5 former opposition exponents. Specifically, Zamira Sina from the DP, the former number two of Ilir Meta's party, Endrit Braimllari, former DP MP Alban Zeneli, Nusret Avdulla who left the PDIU and Blendi Sulaj from Fatmir Mediu's Republican Party.
But who are the deputies placed on the safe list of the Socialist Party, which in these elections seeks the votes of citizens for its 4th mandate? The Tirana district has 37 deputies in the next Assembly.
The first on the list of socialists is the leader of the Party, Edi Rama, and immediately after him the two political leaders Ogerta Manastirliu and Elisa Spiropali. The third in the list is the former Speaker of the Parliament, Lindita Nikolla, and then the leader of the diaspora, Taulant Balla. All of these are names strongly accused by the opposition, but they have not visited the doors of SPAK.
"In the SP there are some individuals who are already in the process, who are with one foot between SPAK and the decision-making of the Serious Crimes Court.
