The Democratic MP, Ferdinand Xhaferraj commented on the situation in the Democratic Party and the re-candidacy of Basha to become the head of this political force.
In an interview for Panorama TV, Xhaferraj said that PD is on a dead end, while he emphasized that Basha proved himself in 8 years, so he should not return to the head of the party. The democratic MP emphasized that new leadership is needed, while Berisha should contribute to this party.
Xhaferraj also emphasized that Basha's candidacy for the new head of the DP is a matter of business and not politics.
"It's a dead end road that doesn't take you anywhere, we need a road that brings out the opposition as the main alternative. Basha had everything in hand, let's not comment on what Basha wants to do because I don't deal with initiatives that seek to do business, it's not a political issue, it's a business issue.
I have been and will remain at that exposure that I have tried to expose in every exit. Our group was tested on May 14th and on March 7th that it was unable to transform into the alternative. Berisha performed better than the seal group but did not create the confidence that overthrows Rama, the path we should follow has to do with the fact that we could play the role of contribution to create a broad opposition mosaic. Berisha should play a role but not at the top, Basha should also play a role, but a leadership that absorbs new energy should be created.
These are not roads, they are dead ends that do not prove anything except to please the small groups that DP raised as big figures. Everyone should push in this direction for the unification of the DP. Berisha must reposition himself, in the sense of the metaphor I used. Without his contribution, PD is not an alternative again, but not with him at the helm. Basha tried it for 8 years and didn't do it, it's not a big drama to do it back to back to create the opportunity for the opposition to take the big step to become a challenging alternative to the government," Xhaferraj said .
