The race for the head of the Democratic Party in Branch No. 2 in Durrës has ended with the victory of Osman Stafa, who has been elected the new head of the Democrats in this branch. According to "Syri TV", Stafa has secured 336 votes, leaving behind the other candidate Selman Drizi, who received 238 votes.
The process in Durrës was conducted by voting among the membership, bringing a clear result in favor of Stafa, who is expected to take over the leadership of the local DP structure in the coastal city.

Several candidates are in the race, including Durim Çekrezi, Elior Vila, Lumturi Hasa, Sokol Shkëlzeni and Alis Narazani, while the process has been accompanied by internal tensions and debates.
After the expulsion of two municipal councilors in Durrës, Dritan Burgija and Arlind Boshku, the Democratic Party today expelled four other members: Alesia Balliu, Doris Madhi, Zheni Gjergji and Rudina Alla.
One of the most discussed developments in this branch is the exclusion of Doris Madhi from the race, a decision that has sparked reactions and questions within the party structures. There is still no full public explanation of the reasons for this exclusion.
Academic Doris Madhi publicly denounced her exclusion from the Democratic Party's membership list in this branch, raising strong accusations of manipulation of the electoral process.
In a statement to the media, Madhi announced that her name does not appear on the membership lists, although she has been part of the DP for nearly eight years and is one of the most active voices in local structures.
