Sali Berisha has been under house arrest for three days and has requested freedom in the Appeal.
The lawyers of Sali Berisha submitted to the Court of Appeal the appeal for the security measure of house arrest with supervision against former Prime Minister Sali Berisha in the investigation related to the privatization of the Partizani sports complex.
On Saturday, December 30, judge Irena Gjoka placed former Prime Minister Sali Berisha under house arrest, after a series of attempts by him to delay this process. Berisha received the communication of the measure from the police officers from his apartment, where periodic checks will be carried out by the police to see if he is complying with the arrest measure or not.
Investigated by SPAK for passive corruption in cooperation with the privatization of the former Partizani complex on the territory of which his son-in-law Jamarbër Malltezi built towers, he is also under house arrest, Sali Berisha, his first reaction was only a few hours after house arrest.
He called it blind political revenge, while in the bloc behind him, his son Shkëlzen Berisha, head of the Freedom Party Ilir Meta, and Gazment Bardhi also called it an attack on the opposition. So far, no reaction has come from the official DP of Lulzim Basha.
