Today, his colleagues and former friends will have to pave the way for the arrest of MP Arben Ahmetaj.
Voting will take place in a plenary session, but everything will be decided by the Regulation and Mandates Council. For days, reporters and analysts who do not know the law at all talk about removing immunity and starting investigations.
Since 2012, deputies, ministers, and even the prime minister have no immunity to be investigated. The only decision that the Parliament should allow the Prosecutor's Office, SPAK in the current case is the permission to arrest, intercept or search the MP.
In the case of Arben Ahmetaj, SPAK has checked both apartments for which he is accused, as they are the property of his co-habitant, for which there is probably no legal prohibition for this.
So Arben Ahmetaj had no legal prohibition to be investigated, and SPAK investigated him, and even opened criminal proceedings, so he was declared under investigation for three crimes. For which, of course, the court must decide whether or not they are supported.
The Special Prosecutor's Office has been intensively investigating Arben Ahmetaj for a year, and the latter has been fully cooperative, even as we have seen several times, he himself went to the SPAK offices to answer the prosecutors' questions.
In essence and in reality, Ahmetaj neither tried to leave, nor to spoil the evidence, because he has no legal or state function to do such a thing.
Therefore, the extreme demand for prison arrest is not justified, even by the disposition of the person under investigation towards SPAK, but also for the criminal offenses themselves, which are neither flagrant, nor do they speak of serious crimes, which justify keeping them in solitary confinement .
In essence, the request for prison arrest is a spectacle, a theater to make a fuss, but that is not a standard that SPAK has followed towards high officials that it has been investigating for a long time.
This is what happened with Sali Berisha, his family members, or even with Fatmir Mediu, who even has a court decision on his back.
All this is a witch hunt by Edi Rama, not just against Arben Ahmetaj, but against all those within his party, whom he no longer considers useful to maintain power.
And exactly the parable that has followed with Ahmetaj, is a big scandal that should make all the MPs of the SP, but also of the opposition, think about how they should vote in the session for the request of SPAK.
Edi Rama, as is known, hated Arben Ahmetaj, as he thinks he was the one who first supplied LSI with the documents for the incinerators, which then Monika Kryemadhi took to a SPAK.

Në burg, që natyrisht izolohet nga njerëzit e Bablokut, Ahmetaj është i izoluar e i kërcënuar për çdo veprim apo qëndrim të mëtejshëm. Qoftë edhe atë që kërkon opozita zyrtarisht, që të bëhet bashkëpunëtor i drejtësisë.
Putin i izolon kundërshtarët e tij në burgjet e shtetit, pikërisht për tua ndaluar aktivitetin. Nëse opozita voton kundër, jo nuk merr pjesë, por voton kundër, i jep SPAK një precedent që duhet të mos kthehet në një grup jakobin që sillet si në një shtet totalitar. Hetimi bëhet edhe në gjendje të lirë, apo arrest shtëpie, ku i pandehuri mban kontakte me avokatët por edhe me median e publikun. Nëse nuk lejon arrestin e Ahmetajt, krijon gjasa që edhe nëse eksponentë të opozitës hetohen, ata mund të ndiqen jo në izolim.
Ndërkaq, deputetët e Partisë Socialiste, të paktën ata që i kanë dy para mend në kokë, duhet të votojnë kundër kërkesës së SPAK për izolim me burg. Këtë bëri PS edhe me Saimir Tahirin, e hetimi nuk u pengua asnjë ditë, madje SPAK nuk ndryshoi asgjë nga akuza e saj deri ditën që u zhvillua procesi. Por edhe për të ndaluar që Edi Rama, t’i trajtojë deputetët si vegla qorre për të ndëshkuar ata që nuk i do, e më pas kur t’i shtrydhë si limonë, të bëjë të njëjtën gjë, për t’u hedhur turmave mish të kuq, e hijaneve një pre për tu jargavitur.
Drejtësia nuk është një histeri kolektive, por process juridik, që duhet zhvilluar me procedura. Ndryshe, jemi në një paradiktaturë, ku Edi Rama izolon dhe i çmend në burg, të gjithë ato që vendos ai për interesat e pushtetit të tij, që kërkon ta zgjasë sa më shumë.

And for this to fight a fierce battle in the Council of Mandates.
When the vote is secret, then the opposition in the bloc, but also the socialists, should not give permission to arrest Ahmetaj. If this happens, SPAK is not hindered at all from the investigation, as it has all the freedom to intercept the investigated, follow him and call him whenever he wants for questions. Meanwhile, both the opposition and those socialists whom Rama has brought under their noses, can break the head of Erdogan's mytesarif.
