The decision to dismiss the Director General of the State Police, Ilir Proda, has been made official. The decision signed by Prime Minister Edi Rama has been published in the Official Gazette, definitively sealing his departure from office.
It seems that Rama used Proda as a "squeezed lemon", after through maneuvers they appointed him police director and now threw him out into the street without saying a word.
The decision has been published, while the Prime Minister or the Minister of Interior have not made any reaction. There was no explanation, no formal thanks. Clearly showing the irritation with the head of the police, who will be one of the few who will not be remembered for anything.
Proda's dismissal took place yesterday, along with the director of Tirana Police, Elton Alushi.
Instead of Proda, Sokol Bizhga has been appointed head of the State Police, while it is not yet known who will replace Alushi as head of the Tirana Police.

The two senior leaders of the State Police have been dismissed on the grounds of not guaranteeing order and endangering the lives of citizens. But there are suspicions that this is a pretext, as Rama had prepared the instigation days before.
