The Deputy Speaker of the Assembly and at the same time the deputy of the SP, Ermonela Felaj spoke about the opposition's request for the establishment of investigative commissions and the works for the new parliamentary session.
Invited to the column "Opinion" on News24, Felaj was clear saying that the majority will not return after the decisions that have been made, while adding that the opposition should turn to the Constitutional Court.
" Regarding the opposition action, apparently the same situation will continue. I want to say that it is not that there is a strategy, except for the implementation of the regulation of the Assembly from our side. The sessions at the beginning of each year are formal, but we will continue with the implementation of the regulation, as until now it has been impossible. So I want to emphasize that the change in the regulation was made due to some events in the Assembly, where for such situations the solution is provided by the application of stronger disciplinary measures.
I want to dwell on the establishment of investigative commissions, where what some representatives of the opposition have declared was and remains an excuse. For each of the cases where the opposition did not agree with the position held by the majority, it can go to the Constitutional Court. We do not go back on the decisions we have made. I would have said that this interim period would have served to repair the opposition action, the boycott is not a means to get anywhere. There are discussions that took place at the conference of presidents and we have publicly said that this behavior of the opposition should be stopped.
Both the Constitution and the decisions of the Constitutional Court have confirmed that the right to establish investigative commissions is the right of the minority, and on the other hand, there is no investigation for every case. I have seen in the media that they have been interpreted as restrictions on rights. In fact, there is no limitation there, but an interpretation of the constitution. The Constitutional Court has been consistent with its decisions ," she said.
