Former Democratic Party MP Ervin Salianji spoke about SPAK.
He said the Special Prosecution Office has failed in its mission to end impunity and has become a political instrument in the hands of Prime Minister Rama.
Salianji stated that since the creation of SPAK, corruption at high official levels has not decreased, but on the contrary, has increased.
According to him, the creation of SPAK was supposed to be aimed at preventing corruption through fear of punishment, but reality showed the opposite.
"From the moment SPAK was created to the files we are talking about, we are seeing that the standard regarding corruption of senior officials is higher," he told "Syri TV".
For the former democrat, SPAK and the entire justice reform function as a tool of pressure in the hands of the prime minister.
"Justice, as it stands today, is the strongest instrument that keeps Edi Rama in power," he said, recalling specific cases.
Ervin Salianji emphasized that Rama has direct influence over SPAK and uses it to consolidate power, keeping under control not only the government and parliament but also the justice system, business and the media.
