The Central Election Commission has distributed a fund of 12.7 million lek as post-election financial compensation to four political parties that participated in the parliamentary elections of May 11, 2025 and that had not received public funds before the campaign.
The beneficiaries are: The Together Movement, The Albania Becomes Movement, The Opportunity Party and The Euro-Atlantic Coalition Party. According to the CEC calculations, the compensation is divided as follows:
–The Together Movement – 2.3 million lek,
–The Albania Movement – 3.8 million lek,
–Mundësia Party – 4.6 million lek,
– Euro-Atlantic Coalition – 1.9 million lek.
The main criterion for receiving compensation was crossing the threshold of 1% of valid votes at the national level. The value of a valid vote was calculated at 94 lekë, according to the CEC decision.
"The purpose of this draft decision is post-election financial compensation for those electoral entities that have not benefited from the distribution of funds as an advance to the parties participating in the elections for Local Government Bodies, dated May 14, 2023, and have received no less than 1 percent of the valid votes nationwide based on the final election results," the CEC decision states.
While parties that had received advance campaign funds are not included in this distribution.
In the case of the “Nisma Shqipëria Bëhet” coalition, the compensation is given only to the Lëvizja Shqipëria Bëhet party of Adriatik Lapaj, as Endri Shabani’s party, Nisma Thurje, had received funds before the elections. The CEC explained that the compensation was calculated based on the votes that each party received individually within the coalition.
The document also states that the Fund made available from the state budget for financing the election campaign of political parties participating in the elections of May 11, 2025 was 150 million lekë. Referring to decision no. 292, dated 21.3.2025, of the State Election Commissioner, “On determining the amount of funds from the State Budget to be distributed to political parties participating in the Assembly elections of May 11, 2025”, the political parties registered as electoral subjects that have benefited from advance funds allocated from the State Budget in the elections of May 11, 2025, are as follows:
Democratic Party – 44,818,545 (forty-four million eight hundred and eighteen thousand five hundred and forty-five) lekë.
Republican Party – 2,689,112.70 (two million six hundred eighty-nine thousand one hundred twelve point seventy) lek.
"Movement for National Development" Party – 896,370.90 (eight hundred and ninety-six thousand three hundred and seventy point ninety) lekë.
"Socialist Party of Albania" – 65,291,390 (sixty-five million two hundred and ninety-one thousand three hundred and ninety) lekë.
Freedom Party – 9,140,730 (nine million one hundred forty thousand seven hundred thirty) lek. – “Justice, Integration and Unity” Party – 1,792,735 (one million seven hundred ninety-two thousand seven hundred thirty-five) lek.
"Union for Human Rights" Party – 896,370.90 (eight hundred and ninety-six thousand three hundred and seventy point ninety) lekë.
"Agrarian Environmentalist Party of Albania" – 896,370.90 (eight hundred and ninety-six thousand three hundred and seventy point ninety) lekë.
"Legal Movement" Party – 896,370.90 (eight hundred and ninety-six thousand three hundred and seventy point ninety) lekë.
Social Democratic Party – 3,015,375 (three million fifteen thousand three hundred seventy-five) lekë.
"Nisma Thurje" Party – 868,445 (eight hundred and sixty-eight thousand four hundred and forty-five) lekë.
