DP: The financial contribution to the realization of this goal has been undertaken 100% by Albanian patriots
Two weeks before the elections, a "bombshell" news comes from the US. The Democratic Party has signed a lobbying contract worth 6 million dollars, the main goal of which is to remove Sali Berisha's non grata status. The contract was signed with "Continental Strategy" for two years and will be paid 250 thousand dollars per month. The first question that arises as soon as you see such a contract is: Where will the DP find so much money?
A few hours after the contract was published, a reaction came from the DP, which, as expected, dodged. The DP stated that the money was given by DP supporters in the diaspora. But without providing any other details.
" The Albanian-American community, through the "Make Albania Great Again" foundation, has contracted the "Continental" company to help consolidate the friendly relations of the Democratic Party, as the largest opposition force, with the US Congress and Government. The goal of our compatriots in the US is the cooperation of the DP with Albania's main ally, to restore functional democracy and the rule of law in Albania. The "Continental" company is led by Ambassador Carlos Trujillo, who is also known as President Trump's lawyer and as an unwavering anti-communist in his stances.
The financial contribution to achieve this goal has been undertaken 100% by Albanian patriots who have lived and worked in the USA for decades, as well as by other democrats who have left Albania during these 10 years due to Edi Rama's regime.
"The Democratic Party, thanking the anti-communist Democrats of the Albanian-American community for their generosity and patriotism, clarifies to public opinion that, although it has agreed to receive this service in full compliance with the laws of both countries, there is no financial burden or contractual obligation arising from this agreement ," the DP states.
But even though the DP bills someone else for the payment, the contract appears to be signed by Flamur Noka. It also comes at a time when SPAK has announced that it has set up a special unit that will investigate the elections. The question that arises is: Will there be a verification by the Special Prosecution? Let's not forget that Ilir Meta is in prison today precisely because of lobbying in the US. LSI spent nearly 700 thousand dollars in the US and was not declared. Also, the source of the contract was not justified.
In 2019, Lulzim Basha was investigated by the Tirana Prosecutor's Office for a $675,000 lobbying contract. He was even sent to trial, but the case was closed by the court, acquitting him. Now the ball is in SPAK's court. There are $6 million in play and the prosecution must tell us who paid it, as Berisha claims he has never been corrupt. /Pamphlet
