The leaders of the Western Balkans will gather in Tirana on February 28 and 29.
The focus of the meeting will be the journey of the countries of the Western Balkans to the EU, where it is expected to discuss the objectives set by the union, as well as the creation of the foundations for the next steps in the implementation of the Growth Plan and the advancement of cooperation and interaction with the European Commission. .
The news about the meeting of leaders in Tirana was announced during the ministerial table of representatives from the Western Balkans in the field of European integration, together with the General Directorate of the European Commission for Neighborhood and Enlargement Negotiations (DG NEAR), on the Growth Plan.
We recall that the European Commission, in November 2023, proposed a Growth Plan for the Western Balkans, which aims to extend the benefits of the European Union's Single Market to the region before formal membership, with the aim of contributing positively to economic growth and accelerating socio-economic convergence. with the EU.
