Journalist Andi Tela asked the General Secretary of the Socialist Party, Blendi Klosi, about Edi Rama's request to the entire party to collect votes and have an "exemplary victory".
Invited to the show The Unexposed on MCN TV, Tela said that the SP has had almost absolute power and has not had any commendable results, since many Albanians have left the country, so he expressed surprise at what "exemplary" result this party is looking for and why do you need it?
Andi Tela: Say you will achieve exemplary victory. SP has 54 out of 61 municipalities. There are 77 MPs, including PSD. In 2019, he achieved an exemplary victory. The result is not what was expected, there are many people who leave Albania. This exemplary victory will mean that Rama still has those ideas that will make major reforms and did not have the votes. At this moment, with a divided opposition, I use the term exemplary victory. What does the SP want in this country, which has every kind of power possible, to get 84 votes in Parliament? How do you serve democracy in Albania? Up to this level where SP rule has reached in every cell, it seems much more than what this people can hold.
Blendi Klosi : The exemplary victory has nothing to do with the victory in the Parliament, but with how the citizens will react. Will they react positively to a reform in justice that we created and hits even the very high elemt in the state hierarchy? Will they react to the territorial reform? How do they react with economic development, tourism, with Albania being the energy superpower in the region, etc. So how have we transformed Albania into a more favorable economic position? So we call this exemplary.
