The Alliance for a Greater Albania has officially launched its electoral campaign. As announced, the activity began at around 7:00 PM at "Nën Tereza" Square.
Sali Berisha decided to follow the model of Donald Trump's campaign, also due to the fact that the campaign is headed by Chris LaCivita, the strategist who gave the American president victory.
The activity has already begun. A magnificent podium has been erected next to the university, while thousands of chairs have been placed in the square where supporters of this political force are sitting. Like the Republicans in the US, young men and women wearing T-shirts and hats with the DP logo have been placed in the podium.
Berisha started the march from the DP headquarters and Chris LaCivita stood by his side the entire time. This event is expected to feature speeches from representatives of vulnerable groups. Sali Berisha and Chris LaCivita will speak at the end.
The first to speak was the member of the Presidency of the FRPDSH, Orest Berberi. He said that on May 12, Albania dawns blue — like the free sky and the sea without chains.
“ We are here because no one can extinguish the light of freedom that was lit 34 years ago! The one who once tried to destroy us from the foundations, who wanted to erase us as a party, as a history, as a voice… He failed! He failed because the Democratic Party is not just a logo, a headquarters, a name — it is the heart of free Albanians! It is the strength of people who did not sell out, did not bow down, did not surrender! It is the strength of youth that never fears. It is the inspiration of youth that does not fade away ,” he said.
Meanwhile, teacher Alketa Lugaj denounced the alarming state of education in Albania, where schools have been emptied due to emigration, poverty and lack of hope caused by Edi Rama's 12-year rule, according to her.
" Student success relies mainly on parental support and private courses, not on the quality of public schools. This situation has its roots in the failure of the school curriculum, in textbooks below international standards, in irresponsible experimentation in educational reforms. One of the reasons for the deterioration of education is extreme politicization. School principals have turned into political commissars, patronizers whose main goal is to blackmail teachers to secure votes and fill the halls with teachers and students for political meetings ," she said.
Komi Furrxhi, a medium-sized farmer from Imishtaj, Lushnja, then took the floor: " I am here tonight because I am interested in my work, I have an interest and I am an interest group. I am here tonight because for 2 months I have listened to Sali Berisha, the leader of the opposition, formulate in his program those demands that we farmers of Myzeqe, and I believe all of Albania, have been making for years. Financing for each production unit, reducing VAT, equalizing VAT on purchases and sales, subsidies for farmers and the creation of the Development Bank. Sali Berisha has taken our demands and included them in the program of the Democratic Party, and I want to thank him for this ."
