The American government's coordinator for the fight against global corruption, Richard Nephew, will visit Albania next week.
The American State Department announces that Nephew will visit Tirana on June 20, where he will also meet with representatives of the government and civil society.
He will discuss the work being done in the fight against corruption and areas for further cooperation in anti-corruption efforts.
The American coordinator against global corruption will also travel to Montenegro, Lithuania and then Albania from June 16-21.
His visit will underscore the ongoing US commitment to fight corruption in the Western Balkans, strengthen the rule of law, and address ongoing shared challenges.
On June 16-17, Coordinator Nephew will visit Podgorica, Montenegro to meet with government officials and civil society representatives. His engagements will discuss Montenegro's anti-corruption efforts, seek to identify areas for further cooperation, and emphasize US support for ongoing anti-corruption efforts.
Coordinator Nephew will then travel to Vilnius, Lithuania on June 18-19, where he will join the International Anti-Corruption Conference as well as other official sessions. He will also meet with various government and civil society partners on the sidelines.
