Prime Minister Edi Rama paid an official visit to Paris this Friday, where he was received by the President of France, Emmanuel Macron, at the Elysee Palace. The meeting took the form of a working lunch and lasted over two hours.
According to the official announcement, the visit took place within the framework of the high-level political dialogue between Albania and France, with a focus on strengthening the strategic partnership, Albania's European integration process, and issues related to security and cooperation within NATO.
After the meeting, French President Emmanuel Macron reacted on the "X" platform, where he praised the relations between the two countries and reaffirmed France's support for Albania's European journey.
" Welcome, dear Edi Rama! Relations between Albania and France are very good in innovation, education, culture and tourism, they show our closeness."
"We want to give new impetus to this partnership, further strengthening economic and defense cooperation. France reaffirms its support for Albania's European integration and for the continuation of the necessary reforms on the path to the European Union ," Macron wrote.
Rama's visit to Paris follows regular contacts between the two leaders, who have met on several occasions in recent years, both in Paris and Tirana, while Albania considers France one of the main supporters of the European perspective of the Western Balkans.
