The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, has repeated the call for the immediate resignation of Prime Minister Edi Rama and the creation of a non-political technical government, which, according to him, should guarantee the holding of free and fair elections in the country.
In a statement from the DP headquarters, Berisha called on democrats, opposition supporters and Albanian citizens to continue the protests against the government, describing them as part of a "rescue mission" for the country.
The opposition leader leveled strong accusations against Prime Minister Rama, accusing him of corruption, mismanagement and actions that, according to him, have harmed national interests. Berisha also referred to several files and reports, which he claimed contain evidence of financial abuses and corrupt activities.
He stated that the high participation in the recent protest indicates the growth of citizen dissatisfaction with the current government and that the demand for the prime minister's removal is being supported by a large number of citizens.
Berisha called for the establishment of a caretaker government composed of experts and non-political figures, which according to him would have as its main mission the restoration of trust in the electoral process and the guarantee of a free vote for Albanian citizens.
