Sali Berisha and those who follow him have achieved their goal. Marsida Xhaferllari, a judge at the Constitutional Court, has decided to resign from the case against Sali Berisha.
For several days, she has been attacked by the media near Berisha and people close to him, as she is the partner of MP Enkelejd Alibeaj.
Berisha appealed the decision of other levels, which approved "house arrest". Both Berisha and Malltezi demand the removal of the security measure.
Even in the case of the "obligation to appear" measure, the removal of Xhaferllari was requested, but the court rejected it.
In his resignation letter addressed to the President of the Constitutional Court, Holta Zaçaj, Xhaferllari emphasizes that he has strictly followed his work and at no time has he been influenced by external factors or other persons with the aim of influencing the case of Berisha and Malltez.
" In no case, no family member and no person with close ties to me has tried to influence me in the exercise of my duty. In the request there is no evidence suggesting a specific action on my part, but only subjective hints of third parties.
I declare that I have not participated in any political activity of any party or association of a political nature. In addition, I remember that the Assembly of the Republic, with the political majority at that time, has approved a resolution against my membership in the Constitutional Court, which shows a position opposite to that represented by the petitioner or the persons he mentions. Also, during my professional career, I also served in the high state administration, under the direction of Mr. Sali Berisha, a person close to the applicant, which could have created the opposite suspicions, if the insinuations about emotional or political connections are accepted.
I understand that insinuations of a political nature can take hold in a society like ours, and therefore I appreciate them with caution. I have always demonstrated professional attitudes, and I have openly declared myself when I was in the minority, documenting in every case my opinion, which can be judged objectively by the parties participating in the trial and by every citizen ", she writes, among other things, in the submitted request Zacajt.
