The majority refused to debate with the opposition in the session, Bardhi reacts

The head of the DP Parliamentary Group, Gazment Bardhi, reacted sharply after today's plenary session closed without debate.

Through a post on social media, the democrat states that 'the state has fallen because the constitutional body has ceased to function'.

The Democrats requested an interpellation with Prime Minister Edi Rama regarding the 'Aruba' file, but the request was rejected.

"What is happening in the Assembly is unprecedented, where the Socialist Party seeks to annihilate the Parliament. The right to speech is essential in a functional Parliament. If the Constitution and the Rules of Procedure of the Assembly are blown up just because MPs exercise their right to speak, closing the Assembly and not allowing debate, the state has practically fallen because the key constitutional body has ceased to function.

"Never in history has a majority with 83 MPs avoided debate and treated its own parliamentary group as mute and a show-off. The majority's fear of parliamentary debate also shows the quality of governance. They have no ideas, they have no balance, that's why they don't want debate," says Bardhi.
