The Albanian Parliament has approved the candidacy of Denar Biba to head the Competition Authority Commission. Biba is thus confirmed in office.
In the plenary session, Biba's candidacy was approved with 73 votes in favor. Meanwhile, 1 opposition MP abstained while 13 other MPs voted against.
With the votes of the majority, but also with some votes from the opposition, all items on the agenda were approved in the Assembly.
The draft law “On the ratification of Additional Protocol 7 on the settlement of disputes of the agreement on the amendment and accession to the Central European Free Trade Agreement, ratified by law no. 9696, dated 21.3.2007” was approved with 87 votes in favor.
The draft law "On the ratification of the financing agreement, between the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Albania, represented by the Ministry of Finance, and Cassa Depositi e Prestiti SpA, 'Improvement of the electricity transmission network in northern Albania after the 2019 earthquake'", was approved with 74 votes in favor.
The draft law "On the ratification of the agreement, between the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Albania and the government of the Federal Republic of Germany, on technical cooperation 2024, for the project 'Green Vjosa (Green Vjosa) - Green and inclusive regional development in the watershed area of the Vjosa National Park'", was approved with 88 votes in favor.
The draft law "On the accession of the Republic of Albania to the agreement for the implementation of the provisions of the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea of 10 December 1982, relating to the conservation and management of straddling fisheries resources and highly migratory resources", was approved with 88 votes in favor.
