On Friday, the Special Prosecutor's Office launched what was considered the biggest SPAK operation where 7 criminal groups were hit.
For this, former Prime Minister Sali Berisha emphasizes that the arrested persons are guards, storekeepers and suppliers, but the real bosses such as Doçi, Avdyli and 4 police officers were found in the apartment during the search but were allowed to escape.
9 of the 14 arrested were left in prison by the Special Court, which thus confirmed the security measure set in absentia. These persons, in cooperation with 30 others declared wanted, among whom are police officials, are accused of being involved in criminal activities, such as murder, attempted murder, cannabis cultivation, etc.
In the session held yesterday, the lawyers of the accused objected to the arrest ordered by the Special Prosecutor's Office, since according to them it is not proven whether they are the people who communicated on the SKY and Encrochat platforms, from where SPAK received clues.
Out of 50 arrest warrants issued by SPAK, only 20 of them have been executed, 6 of which abroad.
The operation developed by SPAK was finalized in cooperation with Europol and extended to several cities such as Tirana, Durrës, Vlorë, Lezhë, Fushë Krujë and Rrëshen.
During the action, the Special Prosecutor's Office also announced the seizure of cash and assets in the amount of 4.5 million euros.
