Freedom Party MP Monika Kryemadhi has spoken about her relationship with Ilir Meta, who is in prison.
She said that she is in a very difficult emotional moment, stressing that the divorce was a big blow for her.
Kryemadhi said that he could have committed a crime of passion for Meta, even considering suicide.
"They are in difficult moments of my emotional life. I had thought about everything, but I had never thought about divorce. I could have committed a crime of passion with Ilir Meta, but I never thought about divorce.
I loved Ilir Meta and I love him, it doesn't matter what he does. He is the father of my children, he made me who I am, to be myself. It has allowed me to be free, direct, even impulsive, albeit at a cost. But when a thing is over, it's over.
It's not about the relapse, it's about how you feel. But the priorities of a woman like my job are children. At a young age I could have killed myself for Ilir Meta like Romeo and Juliet, but now I kill myself only for my children.
Despite everything, Ilir Meta has been and is a patriotic and serious politician", said Kryemadhi.
