The former Deputy Minister of Education, Nora Malaj, has stated that the burning of mandates was a big mistake that is still having consequences today.
Malaj made the comments on the "Review" show on Euronews Albania, where he said that the chairman of the Freedom Party, Ilir Meta, had no hand in the burning of mandates.
She also said that the burning of the mandates came after some political actions and the failures of some opposition initiatives in the Assembly, as according to her, it was understood that the theft was standardized in the lack of value of the deputy's mandate.
" The burning of mandates was not a mistake, but a sin. I will tell the truth, because others have told half the truth. Since we had our mandates stolen, we went out there and did not reach the numbers, since we raised some political causes, we did not have productivity. We realized that the theft was standardized in not having the value of the mandate.
It is the biggest crime you commit when you give him the mandate, but do not give him the value of the mandate. So the opposition camp gathered and decided what to do. It was taken for granted that all those who came after us would be as tragic as us and would not be included in the lists. When the mandates were submitted, they were given as an extreme form, to think and save this agony, which we are now saying why nothing excites you. We managed to build this stadium. The system was shocked.
The granting of mandates was called political Covid. We don't complain. Ilir Meta, for the sake of truth, has been out of hand. All these, no wise jurist gathered us the defendants. He told us that mandates are not given like this because you received them individually. It was a well-orchestrated scheme, an ominous scenario to cut down the political tree. Oppositionism can be done even by a child at home ," said Malaj.
