The chairman of the Agrarian Environmentalist Party, Agron Duka, says that the imprisonment of Ilir Meta and house arrest for Sali Berisha is a cost for the opposition, as we are a few months away from the parliamentary elections.
In an interview for "Tirana Live" on ABC News, Duka said that the majority seems to have a favor, as it has started organizing for the elections. According to Duke, open lists are indispensable.
" The opposition, of course, seems to have taken a step back, it has problems within itself, as well as its leader, Mr. Berisha, is isolated, it is a cost for the opposition. Must lead the campaign. Even the public knows, the opposition has had problems within itself, for 4 years, other small parties have emerged, the party of Alibeaj, Basha, Shehaj, this is a cost for the opposition. It seems as if the majority has an advantage, it is more organized, it also has its own costs of life expectancy in power, 12 years, but there have also been major corrupt acts. For me, Shijak's is an extraordinary cost. My point of view is this, if the opposition will project a shadow government, never tried, maybe people will be curious about new government, new people. I believe and I have also heard in direct conversations that they think about it and articulate it, but it is decided by the leadership of the DP, the leadership of the DP.
What dictates with votes is the real DP that it is today. Undoubtedly, we have our programs, but the electoral code has caused these political parties to be divided.
