Edi Rama's monarchy: the "knights" have become prisoners of the
Edi Rama /

Where are the former prime ministers and ministers of the SP today, where are the professors and intellectuals who founded the party that is running the country?

Who remembers the beginning of Albania's journey after the fall of communism, where, although only with a television media, many political voices began to speak in public. Undoubtedly, Sali Berisha's was the best known and it also went viral.

Meanwhile, apart from Berisha, there were the voices of Azem Hajdari, Gramoz Pashko, Neritan Ceka, Arben Imam, Preç Zogaj, from the DP side, which was very 'cool' back then. But the stage was not so poor on the other side, where besides Ramiz Ali's high-pitched voice, which resembled a member of the group "cugini di campagna", the bass voice of Fatos Nano, the tenor voice of Shkëlqim Cani, the almost frequency-modulated announcer Xhelil Gjonit, but also Namik Dokle, Kastriot Islami, Bardhyl Fasko, Abdi Baleta, Panajot Barka, Namik Hoti and Sabri Godo, even other associations and parties, endless newspapers; from the famous "Our Time", to Haxhi Isufi of Kunji, the "Messenger" of Shkodra or the "Eros" of Agim Deva to the "Interview" of Artan Kristos. Ah, we forgot the slightly microbourgeois social democrats of Skënder Gjinushi, but Teodor Laço, the charming writer from Dardha e Korça, played the piper there. A chaotic revolution of voices, from politics to the media, passing of course to Culture. Albania entered a new Republic, which was very messy, but for many, especially those who were involved in this work, it was quite interesting.

Saliu the First came, who "circumcised" many voices, closed many of the mouths that did not rest. Some money and some wood. Some of them started making katandi. They were not like the first ones who, dressed in an old jacket, a cooper pack and a double cognac, thought to change the world, putting on paper the words that brought them fantasy. Even from the second double.

What did they think about costumes, clothing for women, but above all for lovers, as many lovers as possible. The weekend in Himarë, when I really needed an off-road vehicle. And they left their voices and started trading words.

Quite normal, as we were entering a new phase.

However, politics had voices; less than at the beginning, but there was.

Although Fatos Nanon was imprisoned by Saliu i Parë, and he met his wife and family members once a month, Pandeli Majko and Ilir Meta filled the newspapers behaving as "reformist voices". Professor Pëllumbi, Professor Meidani, and other professors who got involved in politics partly for fun and partly for ambition also spoke.

Compare that idyllic environment with people who spoke their minds, who spoke with heavy words and brilliant ideas with today's monarchy of Edi Rama. Where the Socialist Party has become identical to Louis XIV's court in Versailles that had just begun to be built. Where the boy king who looked in his dreams after a few glasses of the blessed that the monk Dom Perignon brought him, and of course the herbs that came from India, gathered in his father's Hunting Palace all the nobles of France. And forced them to live at the mercy of the sovereign, taking away all their property and goods. He even took money for food, accommodation and entertainment.

And the nobles of France turned into slaves of the "Sun King" who was drunk non-stop saying: "I am the state".

Look at Edi Rama's state today. None of the SP MPs speak, except for repeating the phrases prepared by the propaganda kitchen of the "Sun King" who has now taken the poses of the global leader and savior of "Albania 2030".

Where are the former prime ministers and ministers of the SP today, where are the professors and intellectuals who founded the party that is running the country? There you have them, only they don't speak, because the king has silenced them by hiring their sons, daughters, daughters-in-law, sons-in-law, and even their sisters-in-law. Give them a construction permit, because professors and former ministers have turned into commissioners of medium-sized businessmen, but only for intermediate work.

After Rama's Versailles is being built by a handful of people who are really the court of our "enlightened tyrant" who has turned the state even worse than Ahmet Zogu's infant monarchy, where there was endless noise, opposition, pamphlets and assassinations. Even in the terrible dictatorship of Enver Hoxha, there was an opposition outside the country or inside it, that even if they did not rebel, they did it because they wanted to live.

But today: they have all turned into eunuchs, for a few commissions and securities that Bablok prints from his mysterious Versailles, where he is laughing less and less, even though he has more and more power. This is Albania today, even though there are more tourists than in 1991, even though it has a bigger budget, but so much sadness, so much sadness. Even the king himself laughs less and less.../ Pamphlet
