Journalist Arian Çani has commented on the 'scenario' that is being followed by the head of the government Edi Rama, with the arrests that have been made in the ranks of the majority.
Invited to the show "Now" on Euronews Albania, he emphasized that Rama is preparing a campaign, so that when arrests are made among the opposition, people will say that justice is doing its job and that the latter does not depend on the head of the government. He underlined that there will be sensational arrests of senior political figures in the opposition.
" Justice is an extension of politics, of power with repressive means. What is happening is nothing but a witch hunt. Rama is not playing the bluff, Rama is behind, he is the man who controls everything, otherwise justice would go to Rama and Veliaj. Why doesn't it go, why does it stay at these levels? Why is this all a big campaign, many of the socialists keep them in even though they have no proof.
All this is the preparation of public opinion so that when some sensational arrests are made by the opposition, people say that we have heard for a long time that justice is doing its job and does not depend on Rama. So a ground is being prepared where the opening of investigations, and perhaps the arrest of important high political figures of the opposition, will seem a normal thing when it happens. For me, if this is the plan, those who have been arrested are simply scapegoats ," he said.
