The member of the National Council of Berisha, Aleksandër Biberaj, has stated that the poor result of the May 14 elections is attributed to several failures, among which the manipulation by the government and the division of the opposition and the impossibility of creating an important political pole
In the studio of the show "This Week" on News24 with journalist Nisida Tufa, he stated that PD needs a new leadership, since the democrats' trust in the main figures has already been lost.
Biberaj added that the party should be opened and that Berisha should create a "Council of Wise Men", who he said should be intellectuals and untainted by power.
Regarding the statements about protests, he added that this government can be overthrown very easily with real protests, but not with "walks on the boulevard", as she called the gatherings organized by the opposition.
Nisida Tufa: How do you comment on the result of the local elections of May 14 for the opposition?
Aleksandër Biberaj: Bad political situation. An arrogant and overbearing government immersed in crime and corruption, but on the other hand we have a divided opposition.
It was thought that they would be united by the opposition, but this did not happen, and as a result, the weakest result in 32 years came in these elections.
We failed to create an important political pole.
Aleksandër Biberaj: We failed to create a spirit of change and democratic revolution.
Since the split that happened in DP, we failed to unite, the second failure had to do with joining the coalition, a fact that we were forced to do after the court's decision.
But we should have done it earlier because it was known that the court's decision would come at a convenient time for the government. This hurt us because half of the municipal councils have already been taken by the Freedom Party.
A few years ago, we supported Berisha, who was "conditional" on: the departure of Basha, the union of the party and the right, we had to fight to overthrow Rama's government, all this did not happen, it was a series of failures.
The pulpit was an isolated group and did not open the game, today Berisha is surrounded by a group of several failed people consumed by power.
Berisha should take the initiative to create a Council of Wise Men, they should be intellectuals with values that have given PD, clean and unblemished figures.
In PD, many intellectuals were "beheaded" to make way for Lulzim Basha.
Nisida Tufa: An escape of Berisha would crumble the DP?
Aleksandër Biberaj: No, I do not agree. They are votes of Berisha but also of the Democrats.
Nisida Tufa: Is there any value in protesting under these conditions?
Aleksandër Biberaj: Today, people no longer go out to protest. We don't need to protest with balloons and roses. The protest is to achieve an objective. The opposition had time and opportunity, why they didn't do it I don't know, only the leadership knows that they make the decisions.
We have a degradation of the confidence of the Democrats in the leadership of the party. PD needs a new leader's race. Rama is overthrown for three months with protests, so the protests do not go around the Boulevard. The Prime Minister is surrounded and does not leave until he leaves.
