The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, made a strong warning at the last meeting of the party's Presidency. Berisha stated that if the Democratic Party continues on this path in the next elections, it will be halved.
This was confirmed by Indrit Hoxha, a representative of the Democratic Party, who revealed details from this Presidency meeting.
In the "Now" show with Erla Mëhilli on Euronews Albania, he emphasized that the discussions are about the analysis of the loss of the May 11 elections and the recent developments of SPAK towards the government. According to him, both cannot be done at the same time.
"In the last two meetings of the DP Presidency, the discussion was whether we will go out to do an in-depth analysis on the loss of the Democratic Party or, due to the political situation and recent developments of SPAK in relation to the government, we will go out and protest. We cannot do both."
In the leadership of the DP, there have been much harsher political discussions than the ones you have heard so far. The leader of the DP himself has said that if we continue on this path, we will be halved in the next elections. It was said at the Presidency meeting.
"Does the DP need to change? It definitely needs to. Salianji was the first to say during the analysis of this that we should protest and then continue the analysis process. Not only Salianji, but the majority of the Presidency have maintained this position," said Hoxha.
