From amnesty to betting and electoral reform, Gjylameti reveals the

The deputy of the Socialist Party, at the same time the vice president of the Economy Committee, Blerina Gjylameti, has spoken about the priorities that the majority has for the year 2024.

Invited to the show "This Week" on "News 24", Gjylameti stated that the focus is on expanding the party and bringing as many young men and women closer as possible.

" 2023 has been a very important year, both from the priorities for the inclusion of young people in the SP structures, to have what we want, a representation at all levels. We closed a successful year. Tourism has been in our first points to give power. We saw a boom in tourism that shows what is to come.

But also other sectors, such as health or social protection. We basically have this for 2024, to open up for young men and women to be part of the SP ", she said.

During the interview, she also focused on the Electoral Reform, for which she said that the parties should be able to discuss and reach a solution for the next elections.

" I believe that the Electoral Reform Commission has turned into a saga. Several times we have been part of making changes, the mandate ends, we postponed it for another 6 months... I hope to have a normal communication with the co-drafters to discuss the issues raised by the OSCE/ODIHR. We must definitely sit down and address the upcoming elections. There are also elements related to the diaspora vote, party financing, etc. The priority is the law on political parties and addressing the decision of the Constitutional Court, and the solution for the voting method ," she said.

But what happens on the other hand with sports betting laws and fiscal amnesty?

" For betting, we are in a process towards the end, we have had many meetings with different interest groups to address all the problems that are being looked at. We have received expertise from foreigners to have a law.

Amnesty has been one of the most discussed and debated laws... I don't believe it is completely closed, it continues to be one of the laws we want to discuss. It is a good opportunity for those who have been abroad for years. This amnesty was not invented by Albania. We believe that it should be possible for this flow of money to pass through official channels. I believe we will have it on the table again ", said MP Gjylameti.
