Prime Minister Edi Rama, also the leader of the Socialist Party, said at a rally organized in Tirana on the occasion of the 35th anniversary of the founding of this party that he has no intention of negotiating with those who oppose the investment in Zvërnec.
"I have no negotiations to do with you," was Edi Rama's firm statement to the protesters who have been protesting on "Martyrs of the Nation" Boulevard for 13 days and demanding his resignation as Prime Minister.
Addressing the protesters, Rama said that they are being manipulated, while maintaining the thesis that the protests are being organized by foreign countries. Rama called on the protesters to leave the hyenas, who according to him, are sowing hatred.
"Come and see who told you in a monstrous and repeated manner that we changed the law on protected areas to pave the way for this development, he has lied to you with a very strong lie. I cannot negotiate a contract with those who voted for me."
Let's make Albania a princess of international tourism. Regarding the fate of the development in Zvërnec, it will be determined only by the level of quality of the project that the investors will present to us. Get away from the hyenas, because you are the first to drown in the saliva of that hatred and hypocrisy, which I and the socialists know from afar. If you really want to protect Albania, you people who are concerned about nature, come join us, PS ", said Prime Minister Rama.
Defending the project, Rama said that I am not like any of them and like none of those others who listen to those sirens with increased attention these days.
"What we do with that powerful group of investors, only worthy representatives of a people who voted for them to take care of the interests of the people do. Come and see with your own eyes how the investors themselves have withdrawn from the applications, since our demands have been rigorous. After all, what we want to do with that investment is not another business on the coast, but a jewel that we want to add to the crown of the Mediterranean in the name of Albania, in the name of the Albanian people and our children. When they hear about the destinations, tell others that we also have Vlora, we also have Zvërnec ", said Rama, thus defending the project to develop Zvërnec.
The Head of Government has invited the protesters to see the facts, while saying that there are no negotiations for the sale of Sazan.
" These days have not been easy for me either. There is no more appropriate place and day to, with your permission, address a few words to those who are not here among us. Starting from those who have come out and are protesting to defend Zvërnec and Sazan, from me and the SP government. In front of the 800,000 or so Albanians who have entrusted me with their leadership, if others do not want to listen or believe what I say.
Anyone who is interested in the environment, biodiversity, the future of birds in the area where the Zvërnec or Sazan project will be developed, I say that the facts we have at our disposal should be enough to calm anyone's soul. Come listen, verify the facts for yourself, come get the evidence to feel not only relieved, but also proud of the way our institutions have represented the public interest, whether in relation to the investment in Sazan, or the development of Zvërnec.
There is no strategic investor status given for the largest investment in the history of Albania. There is no agreement yet for Sazan as we speak, but there is a negotiation that has been going on for a long time. It is long because we do not represent the interests of investors. We represent the interests of the Republic of Albania.
At the table we made two things clear: the island is not for sale, which, to be honest, they did not even ask for, and the island is not for rent. The island is and remains the property of the Albanian state.
"The state seeks to participate in the investment as a partner. There is no logical person who does not understand that traitors and sellers do not hold property for the state and do not seek profits for the state ," Rama said.
