"I will not leave politics", Salianji: The Supreme Court is holding

Just a few hours after being released from prison, Ervin Salianji, former Democratic Party MP, appeared at the blue headquarters, where he held a press conference, giving his first public statement.

He considered his imprisonment as political revenge and accused the Supreme Court of falsifying the draw of the panel of judges that considered his appeal.

"Undoubtedly, I will be politically active. Even from prison, as much as I could, I have written and reacted. But there is an obstacle that comes with a political order: the non-clarification of the Supreme Court's decision. In my view, this court has falsified the draw for the panel that tried me. I have addressed SPAK to investigate this case; why did the selected panel leave and be replaced with 'friendly' judges?" declared Salianji.

He stressed that he is looking forward to facing the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg to prove that he is the victim of an unjust decision: "Let's see who was right - me or the government."

Salianji was sentenced to prison in the “Babale” case, but has repeatedly insisted that he is innocent and that his case was used as a tool for political pressure on the opposition. With his return to the DP headquarters, it seems that he is preparing to re-enter the political scene in a strong manner.

Pamfleti.net will continue to follow Salianj's legal and political steps after this return to the spotlight.
