More details have emerged from Prime Minister Edi Rama's meeting with the leaders of the Municipality of Fier. According to sources, he has requested the resignation of all the heads of regional directorates in Fier, the two deputy mayors and the heads of the municipality's departments.
The meeting is said to have been very 'heated'. Rama was outraged in his speech, stating that the citizens gave them a fourth mandate and it is not possible for a large number of directors to receive their salaries and do nothing. According to sources, there were raised voices and ultimatums.
The main focus has been on public spaces. According to Rama, premises and businesses have occupied common space and many directors are not doing their job properly. He has requested that action be initiated there as well to free up the spaces.
After the meeting, the next show is expected, where Rama will go for a walk in the city and see up close how the sidewalks and parks have been occupied.
