The European Union demands arrests at the highest levels. SPAK has investigated Sali Berisha and imprisoned several officials, but this is not enough for Brussels.
Today, the European Parliament has approved a resolution for our country within the Association Stabilization Council, and in addition to criticizing the government for the parliamentary crisis, emphasis has also been placed on corruption.
According to the EP, corruption is a serious problem, as SPAK is encouraged to strike at the highest levels.
" The EP emphasizes the need for sustained efforts in the fight against corruption and organized crime, including drug production and trafficking, in accordance with EU standards and requirements; underlines the need to address the culture of impunity and welcomes, in this regard, the results provided by the Specialized Structure Against Corruption and Organized Crime (SPAK), while calling for progress in ongoing cases, especially high-level ones " , the EP emphasizes.
The resolution emphasizes that they demand not only investigations, but also punishments. The EP asks SPAK not to tolerate anyone, but to hit anyone who got involved in the affair.
" The EP expresses concern that corruption is widespread in many areas of public and business life and that preventive measures continue to have a limited impact, especially in vulnerable sectors. Increasing the number of final convictions to a high level remains an important priority to further address the culture of impunity; asks the Albanian institutions to intensify efforts to fight corruption, emphasizing the need for effective and continuous actions, especially in high-risk sectors ", the resolution emphasizes.
The resolution is also a slap to Sali Berisha. The latter accuses SPAK of being politically trapped, but Brussels encourages him to continue with even stronger blows. / Pamphlet
