Albania completed the process of approving the agreement with Italy on pensions, which benefits more than 500,000 Albanians who have been living and working in the neighboring country for years.
The agreement on the recognition of pensions with Italy is one of the rare acts on which all MPs, regardless of party, agree.
"This agreement unites the political parties", said Tabaku.
But beyond this moment of consensus, the majority and the opposition debated about the low level of pensions in Albania. According to the opposition, the pension reform approved by the Rama government has failed and most pensioners are on the threshold of poverty.
"INSTAT and EUROSTAT data emphasize that 85% of pensioners, mainly in the countryside, have their pension income lower than the vital minimum ," said Tabaku.
Currently, the minimum pension in the village is 11,000 Lek and in the city it is 17,000 Lek, and this low level has long been at the center of the opposition's political battle.
