Paskal Milo has come out against the arrest of Sali Berisha.
He has criticized the Parliament, why it removed his immunity.
"I am not a prosecutor and I cannot enter into technical problems, but as long as Sali Berisha has been investigated for another 3 years, he can continue to be investigated, or the investigations can be deepened even without passing, without receiving approval for the arrest in Parliament.
Here the problem does not lie in the fact that the prosecutor said that phase, but in the substance. And the bottom line is, is the Parliament the real institution that has the will, the responsibility to approach this very important political issue, with a lot of responsibility.
I question this, because the Parliament has long since become an instrument that does not judge by itself. Formally, people can come out there and speak, but they speak according to a pre-prepared script and go out there to consume the minutes that the speaker of the parliament gives you for procedure, because the decisions are actually made somewhere else.
This is what happened with the Berisha case.
We must understand that apart from the legal aspect, the legal procedures that are also formally respected, the decision-making is elsewhere. And this is the essence of the problem in Albania", said Paskal Milo
He said that Albania is sliding towards authorization.
"There is a decline in the authority of the institutions, their accountability in relation to the Constitution, and here I agree with the opinion that appeared, that there are signs of authoritarianism that goes on and is deepening because by denying the role of the institutions and the concentration of power in one hand , then here there is no other way but to target the government as one-sided in relation to democracy, which we talk about so much, but which has essentially been reduced to a minimum," declared Paskal Milo
