A few weeks ago, the opposition MPs sent a request to the Assembly for the approval of the law that allows immigrants to vote.
The deputy of the Democratic Party, Jorida Tabaku, says that a mechanism must be found to introduce the issue of the vote of immigrants into parliamentary discussions.
Through a post on social networks, Tabaku says that the Parliament seems to fail again to make an electoral reform, but it should not fail to enable the vote of the exiles.
According to her, allowing immigrants to vote cannot be postponed indefinitely.

Politics is not what you say, but above all what you do!
For years, politics has beautifully explained the need and the possibility of voting for all Albanians, meaning the vote of the diaspora. A constitutional right that has unfortunately been denied for 3 decades in a row and especially in the last decade where their request was better articulated. This demand and constitutional right have been answered with empty rhetoric by the majority that has voted for every law in parliament these 10 years. Those who, when it comes to turning the immigrants' request into law, have remained silent, continuing the rhetoric of a theoretical exercise with the verb "must"!
Unfortunately, the parliament that has not left a custom law unapproved in these ten years and the MPs who have often turned into puppets signing blank papers for laws that they have not even asked before has not produced any reform worthy of the diaspora's vote. A parliament that has produced few reforms, few laws and almost no change for the better in the lives of citizens. A parliament that wandered more in search of a small agreement between some parties and not a big agreement to give the missing right to the majority of Albanians. But all this cannot continue indefinitely and we must find a mechanism to re-introduce the diaspora's vote into parliamentary discussions.
Thus, with some colleagues from the opposition, we decided to co-sign the request of the representatives of the "Diaspora for Free Albania" who have proposed a draft law to enable the vote of immigrants. A proposal that takes shape especially one year after the decision of the Constitutional Court that forces the parliament to regulate their vote. It seems that again the parliament will fail to make a complete electoral reform to address all the problems of the elections, but it should not fail to enable the vote of the exile! No one should be afraid of the vote!
