The Democrat, Roland Bejko, speaking about the decision expected to be taken by GJKKO on SPAK's request to set 'house arrest' for Sali Berisha, said that the latter wants extra measures to be taken against him.
In an interview for the show "Kontrast" on Report TV, Bejko said that Berisha wishes to be left in "prison custody" and use such a situation to victimize him based on his accusations against the government that has described as 'regime'.
"He wishes that they would not put him under house arrest but take him to prison to play the role of a Mandela. Taking advantage of the narrative he has created is that we are dealing with a regime...and things like that ", said Bejko.
As for the other part that has supported Berisha during this period, Bejko said that the doors are open for them and that they are justified by guilt, emphasizing that the former prime minister took advantage of the depression of the democrats after losing the 2021 parliamentary elections. sell
"DP has its doors open to all its members, excluding those who have problems with justice. The rest is definitely welcome, if they agree to come it means that it is a kind of repentance. They are not to blame, Berisha took advantage of the depression that gripped the democrats after losing the 2021 elections, he promised them that through his own charisma within 6 months he would topple Rama, but it did not happen. What we said came out, Berisha went out there for his own trouble, to gather as many people as possible to tell the internationals to be careful that it could cause destabilization both in the country and in the region. In the end, it turned out as I said, it just ended ," added Bejko.
Bejko further compared the situation where Berisha is with the end of the former leader of Libya, Gaddafi, saying that the former prime minister is now alone.
" Berisha has known his fate since he was declared "non grata". Tomorrow is the beginning of the closing of the career of Berisha, who came out of politics in disgrace. I watched Gaddafi a few days before it happened, in a large crowd of people, and these same citizens were the same ones who applauded his end" , said the PD vice president.
After the Parliament removed the MP's immunity, the next day (December 26), the Special Court, chaired by Irena Gjoka, convenes to give the decision on the SPAK request for house arrest for Sali Berisha, who is accused of passive corruption in the privatization of the Partizani complex.
