The spokesperson of the Democratic Party, Mirela Karabina, together with the engineer, Azmer Dulevič, gave a statement today about what they consider to be abuses by KESH for the floating thermal power plants in Vlora. Karabina says that citizens' property and taxes have been abused.
"Abuse and misappropriation of property and taxes of Albanians are everywhere, as is the case that will be denounced today by Engineer Azmer Dulevic on the abuses by the Albanian Electricity Corporation (KESH) for the floating canals in Vlora.
The corrupt affairs of this government already confirmed not only by the investigations of the Special Structure, SPAK, but also by international organizations prove how the metastases of corruption have spread in every tissue of the government.
And the costs of this galloping corruption are paid by the citizens!
The Democratic Party with the new political model and culture for the citizens and at their service will denounce any abuse that burdens and complicates the lives of its citizens and will support without any reservation the justice bodies for the punishment of corrupt acts", said Karabina .
While the engineer, Dulevič claims that our country has a cheaper value of energy in the stock market than to light these two floating vessels in Vlora.
"On October 1, 2022, KESH took two ships, floating Tece, on lease for two years for energy production.
Today, almost a year after the ships were anchored in Vlora, they have not produced even one MHE of electricity. According to the contract, which is kept secret by KESH, but which has been made public and is well known, 63 thousand euros per day will be paid for the daily rent from the taxes of Albanian citizens, not including maintenance and fuel. In total, over 72 million euros will be collected from citizens' taxes for two years.
KESH with the signature of its director has just announced the winner of the tender worth 7.2 million euros, which will be only for fuel storage. The value of fuel that is expected to be purchased by KESH in December exceeds 100 million euros. From the data we have from the Hungarian stock exchange, the price of energy today is around 120 euros/Mh, meanwhile, if two boilers are put into operation, the price of MHE exceeds 200 euros without counting pollution.
So, it is cheaper to buy the energy on the stock exchange than to turn on these 2 floating Teces. What the citizens should know is nothing more than another affair that is being done with energy and how their taxes are being wasted. Have the payments started for the 2 non-working tecs? Does the Alpex scholarship work?
When will the energy transactions with Kosovo be carried out? Meanwhile, KESH continues to sell and buy energy outside the Albanian ALPEX stock exchange, which has cost citizens' pockets over 4.4 million euros for the construction of the platform and staff training. The electric-energy system is not kept afloat by pressures to increase the price of energy for family members and pensioners, but by having a vision and a clear technical-economic plan, which unfortunately it does not have. But this is the Government of Edi Rama, which instead of serving the citizens, prioritizes profit and enrichment at their expense!", said the engineer.
